Way back when, I recommended debut author Jessica Brody’s novel The Fidelity Files, a titillating tale of a woman who devises a secret identity as a fidelity inspector, morphs into each man’s fantasy, then tests men for the intention to cheat.
Now Jessica has learned from efforts to market her book, and is now giving back. Six weeks ago she launched Free Book Friday, a web site that promotes authors by giving away free books every Friday. People have been drawn to the site for the free books, of course, but keep coming back for weekly interview podcasts, contests for autographed books, and other content such as last week’s Halloween edition, featuring vampire novelist P.C. Cast.
The site has already got 2008 giveaways planned, and a wait list going for ’09. Things are going so well that yesterday,November 1, Jessica launched a spin-off site just for teens.
