How did it get to be the end of March? It seems I look up from a sea of deadlines, major house repairs (think foundation, and up) and prep for a big life deadline approaching in May, and . . . here we are on March 21.
While I gather some tidbits to present, you can get a sneak peak here:
— My guide to honeymooning in the Islands in Seattle Bride Magazine (also forthcoming in Oregon Bride).
— My guide to 2011 Hawai‘i festivals in the current (March) issue of Alaska Airlines Magazine (page 52). From the relatively new Ka‘u Coffee Festival on the Big Island to O‘ahu’s SPAM Jam, you’ll find the details on cool and captivating island events.
— As you might have gleaned from my twitter feed, I’m also putting finishing touches on a short piece on my favorite O‘ahu food trucks for an AAA Hawai‘i Magazine issue this summer. I love when eating is my job.
For fun, I’m finally digging into The Thousand Autumns of Jacob Zoet by David Mitchell, set so far in 1799 Japan. I find it really engrossing, and after not getting to far into Black Swan Green, joyed to be immersed in Mitchell’s world once again.
