Looks like there’s another author in the family–the presidential family that is. The Guardian and Publisher’s Weekly report that Maya Soetoro-Ng, La Pietra teacher and half-sister of President Barack Obama, is writing a book.

“Ladder to the Moon” is cleped a “modern day fable” for children that draws on Soetoro-Ng’s imagined interaction between her daughter and her late mother, a family-renowned storyteller. The book will be published by Candlewick Press, but no date has been announced.

I wonder if she will draw on any literature she’s read recently, and whether when she does a Hawai`i reading, her brother will attend?
